Tatta Pani

The hot water stream coming out the moutain side.

Still boiling hot.

Chillas 2

Believe it or not, this photo was taken at about
11 pm on a full moon night.

Chillas 1

In case you are thinking this photo was taken in
a museum, let me tell you this is the Shangrila hotel
in Chillas. Truly amazing and a real surprise to find
such an establishment at a place like Chillas.

The hotel faces the Karakoram Highway with the
Indus flowing at its back. The whole place is
made in steps stopping short of the river.

The river Indus.

Summer rains with rain water coming through
the windows into the corridore.

Rainbow after the rain.

Babusar Gah

This is what passes for a road in Babusar Valley. 3 hours
of driving on this road really tells you what it must
feel like being in a washing machine on an extended
wash cycle.

Coming down from the Babusar Pass at the
start of the valley. People told us there used
to be a beautiful forest here but then the
locals decided to take good care of it, now it
all lies in lumber yards.

Babusar Pass 2

I was truly speechless at what I had waiting for
me at the other side of the pass. Flowers, flowers
and then some flowers. In all possible shades and
colors.

Lake Lulusar 1

From high up on the jeep track.

At the water level.

From here you simply enter the flower territory.

Malika Parbat as seen from the lake.

It's only the far side of the lake which still has
any semblance of its original beauty remaining.

Shimal Hill - Abbottabad

The southern end of the city as seen from Shimla hill.

This place is amazing for an afternoon picnic.

This photo was taken in mid-summer, the autumn
light over here must be doing wonders to the
scenery. One more item on my future to-visit
places.

If you happen to have a 4-wheel drive or a some
other sturdy vehicle, this place offers hours and
hours of relaxed driving.
